How This All Started

Jess is a Colorado gal.

Jess is a Colorado gal. Born on the Eastern Plains of Colorado, (not literally, there was a hospital visit, lol) she has been a creative soul from the start. She was an active 4-H'er in crafts, print, photography and layouts. She played many instruments and lead worship for a few of the churches she was a part of. In addition to her love of art & music, she was raised with a deep seated love for Christ. Actively involved in her church growing up and currently, Jess puts God at the center of every project she works on. She started out as a go-getter and continues to go all- in no matter what she's doing.

Her first hand-drawn piece of art was sold while she was a sophomore in high school. Sales and commissions for her art continued throughout high school and college. She received interest from publishers for some her original poetry while in high school and opted to focus on art and design rather than seek publishing. Her love of talking probably played a part in her love for the written word, which she uses today in her description and marketing pieces. Seeing the sky not as a limit, but an opportunity, Jess set off to college to study Graphic Design and was driven towards agricultural & church/non-profit based advertising and marketing.

While working within multiple fields such as agricultural, vet med, churches, music, medical and school systems, Jess gained wisdom and insight into the things needed by groups and businesses to thrive. Using her skills and passion for people, she was a large part of several start up businesses and helped structure operation and protocol systems within companies. Business consulting started early on for her within these projects.

Having then used her graphic design skills for over 15 years at a professional level, Jess finally, with the encouragement of her husband and family, launched her own business in 2021, shortly after moving to Northwest Colorado: Alabaster Consulting & Design. She immediately recognized the need for business owners and individuals to obtain noteworthy, honest, and unique branding, support and structure. Jess saw a need and set out to make it accessible, affordable and bold! She stated, "exceptional art, regardless of it's application, should move you deeply in a direction; to hate it or love it but never to remain unchanged." She holds true to that statement as she continues to value people in all her business endeavors while delivering new, noteworthy designs & media that are truly, set apart!
